Today we took the bus to the metro and then took the metro to the Louis Vuitton Foundation. It was pretty cold. We got there pretty early so we waited in line for quite a long time. Once we were in the building we were free to explore however we chose.
After this location we took the metro to the Musee ’Osay where we had about 1 hr and 45 minuters of free time to shop and look for food. There was a really convenient street with many bistros, and I bought a croque monsieur! I've learned about how a croque monsieur was the typical sandwich in France, so I had to get one since I was here. It was delicious, hot and it filled my stomach up very well. :) Then I went to another bistro to see what my friends got to eat, and it was pretty small, like how many places are in France. I did get window seat so I was able to be "parisian", eat and watch people pass by. After lunch, I decided to take the chance to sight see and also admire the architecture. I even walked pass a little pastry shop, and took a picture of the beautiful and yummy cakes on display for purchase.
At the Musee d’Orsay I saw a lot of beautiful artwork by some very famous artisit, Van Gogh, Edgar Degas, Picasso, some Art Nouveaux, and many others as well. The Musee D'Orsay used to be the old train station. It's really amazing how France finds importance in preserving their old buildings and turning them into very neat places. After that we decided to go exploring a little beyond the Tuilleries Garden and the Ferris Wheel by the Place de la Concorde. I bought my very first french crepe, it had chocolate and banana slices. It was very good! Afterwards we took the metro home, and then went grocery shopping at the FranPrix, another grocery place, close to our apartment before officially heading home. I bought water and eggs. Today was full of artistic inspirations and wonderful explorations. I can't wait for tomorrow.
